Dermatologists say mesh shower poufs do more harm than good...
Has this ever happened to you?
The ghastly sight of an unraveled loofah. It turns out the fact that these cheap plastic shower poufs don't last very long is for the best.
Most people assume that scrubbing themselves with all that mesh is good for their skin. While these loofahs are certainly exfoliating, they are also a breeding ground for nasty bacteria that can grow in multiply in a single night! Gross!
Most if not all dermatologists would recommend NEVER using one of these "netting exfoliators" due to the fact that any dead skin cells you managed to scrub off your body get caught in the folds of the loofah. Combine that with the warm moist environment of a shower and it's a breeding ground for bacteria, yeast, and mould.
We cringe at the thought of bringing that disgusting piece of plastic anywhere near freshly shaved skin where the tiniest nick could result in infection and bad skin.
